An information technology maintenance contract

This was an IT software maintenance contract with a client in the financial services sector. The contract had been managed by the IT department, in complete isolation from the procurement department. Our involvement commenced because of the suppliers failure to perform their obligations, thereby threatening our client’s market position. A complete contract review was undertaken, followed by negotiations with the supplier’s Directors. It emerged that IT service engineers were travelling more than 300 miles to provide the service and charging for end to end time. They were also found to be undertaking work on an adjacent site, whilst still charging our client. A substantial repayment of fees was achieved, plus other significant service improvements.
