Procurement and implementation of an IT system – Private Sector

This work was for an international client who required a new IT system to be purchased and then for it to be installed, tested and implemented across Southern Africa. We assisted the client with the preparation of the ITT documentation for issue to major IT system developers, systems integrators and those capable of supplying long-term systems support.

There were many complexities, including a lack of local resources, lack of project management expertise, lack of cost knowledge, lack of detailed contractual terms and conditions of contract. We undertook research to identify how such major IT systems had previously been procured for major private and public sector organisations. The project also included a risk modeling programme by which to evaluate the offers received.
