An engineering and construction project

This project involved a significant long-term capital investment in a Utility. It required planning, design, tendering, procurement, contractual risk management, financial planning, statutory approvals, testing, commissioning and through-life support. There were challenging in-house relationships to be managed, including the Main Board of Directors and an independent in-house design facility. The contractual challenges included initiating key performance indicators, milestone accountability, payment and inspection regimes. The greatest problem encountered was identifying the client’s Decision Making Unit and understanding how decisions were made.
